The CSEF has in recent months been concentrating its efforts at School for the Deaf No.2, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

EDUCATION - Helping Romanian Deaf Children Some 400 deaf children at Schools for the Deaf Nos. 1 & 2 and the Special Professional (Vocational) School in Cluj-Napoca have been given hearing aids (value: £26,000). In addition, 650 deaf children have had eye vision checks and, so far, over 100 given reading glasses. In 1998, an Ear-mould Laboratory was established at School No.1 (cost: £9,300), and at the end of 1999 a Hearing Aid Repair Workshop (cost: £6,500), both run by trained Romanian technicians. Libraries were set up at Schools for the Deaf Nos.1 & 2. (cost: £5,600 for two libraries). Computer rooms at the three schools were established, each room supplied with ten modern computers, software and associated equipment (cost: £15,550).
