HEALTH - Improving Romanian Medical Laboratories

Many tens of tonnes of medical laboratory equipment have been delivered to some thirteen different medical laboratories, mostly in Cluj-Napoca. A 15-tonne clinical incinerator was also delivered. Staff safety is always an important consideration and every effort has been made to eliminate the dangerous practice of mouth-pipetting by the supply of hand-operated Finnpipettes. Class 1 microbiological safety cabinets were installed in three departments. Support has also been given to dental laboratories and to medical students having to work in medical laboratories as part of their studies.
