Each year a great many people and organisations give generously to the CSEF.

These donations come in many forms, all of which help us undertake our medical and educational work in Romania.

HELPING US

If you pay income tax or capital gains tax and give us a donation of, say, £10, we are able to claim back the tax (assumed to be 22%) already paid or due on this amount, namely £2.82. This is called Gift Aid. The £10 donation increases to £12.82. A gift of £780 would be worth £1,000 to us. If you pay tax at a higher rate (40%), you will be able to reclaim £180 for yourself, so the CSEF’s £1,000 will cost you only £600. Gift Aid is very important to us as it provides us with extra funds to devote to our projects. As long as you pay tax and have completed a Gift Aid Declaration, that we can provide on request, we can obtain this refund on any gift of £1 or more.

Several people now organise fundraising events for specific CSEF projects. These include auctions, draws and raffles, concerts, coffee mornings, boot sales and bring-and-buy sales.

A legacy to The Clinical Science & Education Foundation can make a tremendous impact on the future work of the Foundation. Because we hope that a long period will elapse between making a will and its coming into effect, we recommend that legacies be made to the general fund, not to individual projects or appeals, whose targets may already have been achieved. We will always honour specific requests, such as using the legacy to help special needs children. It is advisable to use a professional adviser or solicitor when making a will and to state your intentions clearly.

Any donation, large or small, is very important to us. It allows us to help provide much needed medical and educational resources to Romania.
